Dr. D’Agostini & Dr. Hunt receive CAQ in Sports Medicine
The orthopaedic surgeons at Bedminster Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine have received their Subspecialty Certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Robert J. D’Agostini Jr. and Dr. Stephen A. Hunt of Bedminster Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine are board certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Board certification recognizes physicians who have completed their training and met a standard of excellence by passing written and oral exams. To complement their certification in orthopaedic surgery, Dr. D’Agostini and Dr. Hunt have passed the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery’s examination to receive subspecialty certification in orthopaedic sports medicine. This certification of additional qualification (CAQ) recognizes Dr. D’Agostini and Dr. Hunt for their expertise in sports medicine, in addition to their mastery of general orthopaedics.
Orthopaedic sports medicine applies medical principles and treatments to the arena of athletics. Many sports related injuries require diagnosis and treatment for problems with the musculoskeletal system, including acute traumatic as well as chronic overuse injuries. As specialists in sports medicine, Dr. D’Agostini and Dr. Hunt specialize in both non-operative and surgical treatments for professional athletes, youth athletes, and weekend warriors who enjoy participating in competitive and recreational athletic activities.
This certification process involved passing a review of sports medicine cases handled by Dr. D’Agostini and Dr. Hunt over a 12-month period performed by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. Each physician also passed a 4-hour board certification examination.
Dr. D’Agostini is a New Jersey native who has practiced in Bedminster for the last 15 years. In 2006, he was joined by Dr. Hunt to create Bedminster Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine. Dr. D’Agostini attended Rutgers University Medical School and received his orthopaedic training at Georgetown University. Dr. Hunt attended New York University’s School of Medicine, received his orthopaedic training at the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases, and completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the prestigious Steadman-Hawkins Clinic.
